Traffic really isnt bad at all except inbound in the AM, and outbound in the PM.
And Cola is anything but dangerous. Just like any other city, use some common sense.

Amtrack goes through Columbia and Charleston. Our son is a big train fan and we checked trip data. Fares are reasonable, but both places require loading in the middle of the night.

Thanks guys! I guess we are going to start in Columbia and see what happens. If we dont/cant make it in Columbia (if hubby cant find a job basically... ) Then we are going to move up to Greenwood then lastley would be Greenville... maybe other places in between depends on where the job offers are..
When we start we are going to try to find a by week place to move in just so he can get a job... anyone know of a safe by week rental place in or around Columbia?

Florence and Marion, South Carolina
Hi! We are planning a trip the end of this month. We are hoping to visit both Florence and Marion for purposes of checking out these areas for relocation. Does anyone have any insight into these areas with regard to restaurants, night life, housing, cost of living........
Thanks for any info!
