See - was I right? Lots and lots of attitude about northerners from southerners. Although the northern arrogance also shines through in BayHill's comment.

Three visits, eh?
Well as a native here, your research would be wrong. You don't have to be conservative to live here. I'm a liberal democrat! As far as being christian, there are all different types of people here now. Yes, belonging to a particular church can help you make friends, but that's not always the case. If you had done your research properly, you would see that african americans are the majority in some towns/cities.

Bayhill, you'll find god-fearin, flag-wavin, walmart-shoppin, nascar-watchin, mullet-wearin, homophobic, xenophobes anywhere you move. But probably more likely in South Carolina.

Wow! Another stupid post.
Oh yes, we love Nascar here. We also love our Gamecocks and Tigers. We do shop at Wal-Mart. However, a majority of us do have the money to shop at the mall. Yes, we do love our flags - both of them. We take pride in our state and pride in the land that OUR ANCESTORS farmed before this became what it is now.
As for the mullets, well, my husband and I have nicely groomed hair. We don't look like Joe Dirt and have cars on cynder blocks in our yard.
So perhaps the reason that you didn't fit in well is because you are a biast dunce. You know nothing about South Carolina - Mr. 3 visits.

SC Coast is WONDERFUL!
If you are thinking of moving to SC.....go to the coast if you can. We moved here (Pawleys Island)from Winston Salem, NC 2 years ago and it is wonderful! MUCH LESS CRIME!!!!!!!! In fact, crime is rare here. The area is beautiful, the people are friendly and we have made MANY wonderful friends. The school is great, the recreation is keeps us very busy, and the kids have plenty to do outside of school. We can go to the river or the ocean in a matter of minutes. Anyone who says the SC coast is not the perfect place to live is wrong! Just visit the Island and you will want to live here!

Oh.......by the way..........
By the way, I just read the post above talking about Yankees and Red Sox fans. I am a RED SOX FAN, a die hard RED SOX fan, I am a NC native, moved here 2 years ago, and I do NOT have a mullet. In fact, I don't know many people here is PAWLEYS with mullets, or who "tote guns" or any of that other nonsense that was mentioned above. There are actually more people originally from the north (like my hubby) here than from the south. It seems like everywhere I go I hear from people from NY, NJ or MA. So, don't take that post to heart.........
