High Sex Offender numbers in Pickens County???? (sex offenders, buying)

Hello! My family and I are looking to relocate to Pickens County from NJ. I thought I did all my research but when I looked into the number of registered sex offenders in that county I was shocked!! There's atleast 3 times more offenders in Pickens County than where I live and to make it worse, my NJ county has 9 times more people (100,000 vs. 900,000)!! I'm very concerned. I called the Pickens Police Station and spoke to a policewoman who said they keep close tabs on the offenders and there really isn't a problem. I have two young children and moving to a safe place was of course a must when deciding where to relocate to. Is there anyone that is from this area that can shed some light on this? Is that why there are so many Rape Crisis Centers in that area? HELP!

I went through this when I moved, its part of living in the south. Do the research and find out when they did what they did and what they did. You could move in somewhere with 0 s.o. and the next month one will move in, nothing you can do. There is also one in our community but it didnt stop me from buying in here.

exactly what they did.....there are people registered under this that 25 years ago never would have qualified.... then you have the real perverts..child molestors et al...those are the ones I'd worry about
