There are a few decent deli's that have established themselves here but unless you are bringing something absolutely extraordinary then you are probably wasting your time here in Aiken. Restaurants are a dime a dozen here and they seem to open and close fast. Good luck ..

I was surprised to be able to get a bagel and lox at the bagel shop by publix.. But the stoplight deli does a pretty decent pastrami sandwich..

The new bagel place isnt doing well to my understanding. Then again, I dont pay them much attention since the **** yankee owner was rude to me & several friends, then came into my store and started bashing our products to customers.
There is a bet going 'round as to when the shop will close, especially since the 1st bagel place that was around went belly up.

Besides..bagels are nasty. Biscuits are better!

Well, I must confess that Aiken is the most unfriendly City I have lived in in 30 years; and I will be moving to Charleston (summerville) in the Spring. I grew up in Aiken, went to Eustis Park, Aiken Jr high, Aiken High and USC where the muesum is now. I retired and came back. guess it is true one
can never go back home. I have found the people to be stuck up and snooty and to impressed by
money. Even the employees of the city are not friendly, as one a question and they either walk away or I don't know and walk away. I lived in California (LA) during my career and looked forward to moving back to my beloved Aiken. The really sad part is it is a great town, but has lost its appeal and charm to being stuck up, the city needs to employee its own thinking from the banners around town.

Im from Aiken born and raised :-)

There arent really any jobs here and there is a lack of entertainment etc... this is a great place to raise your family, have horses and retire. I just wouldnt choose Aiken to start a beginning there is just a lack of variety..there is a cute little downtown section but that clears out on the weekend. To get a better understanding talk to people who live or have lived here in the last year or so.

I think a market for a kosher deli would go over big......lots of northerners here (NJ and NY) and there really isn't a good Jewish Corned Beef sandwich to be found.
The bagel shop by Publix has good bagels but the most unfriendly and rude owners. As much as I like bagels, I refuse to buy any from them.
