I am interested in moving to a new state, I will be making this move by myself. This is what I have come up with so far:
I would like it to be somewhere where it doesnt snow or if it does very little, but I am not sure how I will cope with heat eaither because in vermonth it really doesnt get over the 80's and it really isnt that humid. Somewhere where it would be scenic. I can go visit my family a couple times a year that is fine with me. I am looking for a college with hr management and a culinary school that I can enjoy for personal use. I wanted great italian restaraunts too but I am hoping I can be a great italian cook as well and that would take care of that want.
The Charleston area is a great place to work, recreate, raise children, and really vacation where you live...beaches, golf, theatre, art, music, fantastic restaurants, great municipal recreation facilities, and lots of great opportunities to gaze at amazing vistas and watch the day go by! I think SC would be a great choice too, but you really need to think about the heat. It's very different in the south on the coast. very humid, and hot. You will get used to it as you live there. The summers are in the 90's. I'd say go visit this summer and see what you think. It has lots of colleges that offer what you are looking for.
Merrie, if you're worried about the heat you need to spend a little time here during the summer before deciding to move down. If you want mild temps all year round with no snow you really don't have many options other than the west coast.
The SC heat is something to think about...it gets very hot and humid outside in the summer. It is almost exhausting [for me at least] to go outside in July.
Try coming down in July and see how you do in the heat. Some are comfortable with it and adjust, some dont.
I agree that you have to consider the heat in SC, but if you find it livable, you would have a time of your life there! Charleston is absolutely fabulous and offers the best sea food and italian culinary that you would so easily jump into. I have never enjoyed my meals better than in Charleston!
