Hi, my fiance and I are researching the possibility of relocating to NC or SC. I love the beach and I love the laidback lifestyle of the south. I currently live in southern Missouri, so I am used to the Bible belt ways and slow pace of living. My fiance is originally from West Virginia, so we are kind of small town people at heart. We are both almost 25, and have four dogs, 3 beagles and a hound/lab mix. We don't want children so therefore the schooling is not an issue. What I am wanting to know is :
-What are some good semi-rural, but closer to cities, that are close to the beach and pet-friendly?
-What are the cost of living/living expenses like?
-Are the taxes very high?
-In general, what do you like best about SC?
So glad you posted this I was about to do the same! I'm 28 from Massachusetts and I show Chihuahua's in AKC events. Originally wanted Florida but that state is so unfriendly to dogs.
My uncle is also a judge and has friends in Charleston and they love it, they have dogs.
