Default Life in Deadwood vs. Life in Lead?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how the Lead and Deadwood areas compare, and what the main differences between them are.

I'm coming out there shortly to look for a place to live and I'm trying to narrow down my search as much as possible.

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate any help you all can provide.

Deadwood has a population of 1200 with 20,000 tourist every day, Lead is about 4000 with a few hundred tourist every day, Lead has affordable housing and some stores for cloths and groceries, Deadwood has no stores. Deadwood cost twice as much to rent and just bars, slot machines and tourist traps, Many of the employees of the 80 plus casinos live in Lead, most of the retired people live in Deadwood. Deadwood has way more entertainment and parties and 3 times as many bars. They are about 2 miles apart so it realy does not matter were you live! Good Luck !!

Thanks Dave. Does Lead have much of a downtown? I liked the pictures I've found online of Deadwood's downtown area and think it would be nice to live close enough to walk it.

Are there any coffeeshops or restaurants in Deadwood's downtown area with free WiFi Internet?
