In Deadwood, when you come in from the South..... There is a huge hill (all over, I know) but on this particular hill there sits a HUGE brick building fenced in. Along with some other weird shape formation next to it..

I have been searching everywhere trying to find out what this is.. Is it a jail? Sure looks like one anyways. Just curious as it was very creepy looking and I'd really like to know It's been bugging me!

The jail is right in town and not on a hill so I doubt that was it - there are several of old mining buildings between Lead and Deadwood, many are fenced off, but without knowing more exactly where you were it is a bit tough to tell. Were you on hwy 85, 385, 14A? more on the edge of town or in town? was there anything else you noticed near this building, businesses, housing, or road? was the building closer to the top of the hill, bottom of the hill, or side of the hill? were you looking at it from afar or was it more in your face? sorry, so many questions, but without details I know a good number of buildings in the area with fences, most have at least some brick - also the city limits of Lead and Deadwood adjoin in many places, so often folks less familiar don't notice where one ends and the other begins.

Oh, if only I could remember..

Well.. here's what I do know... I drove into Deadwood from the South end... The edge of town with an abundance of hotels like Super 8, Comfort Inn, .. Opposite of "Main Street" with the hotels on that little strip..

Soooo, from the entrance of Deadwood on that side of town... It's to your left when you drive in.. A little ways in the distance.. It literally is at the TOP of a hill.. HUGE hill.. So crazy you cannot miss it. Literally looks like an insane asylum Haha..

It's fine if you have no clue, I don't blame you - not very good detail on my part but thanks for answering at least!

It is Costner's park deal thingy? Or there is the roundhouse that is being restored.

Are you referring to the old Slime Plant, which will be turned into a multi-million dollar hotel and casino?
