Jim Stokes is on a distinguished road
Hey, I just got a GREAT IDEA for an action/adventure movie that takes place during the Sturgis rally. Heck, we could get a zilllion extras and some wannabees for a small fee and a photo/movie release form. Everybody would have fun!

Anybody on this board into making movies?

We'd shoot it in hi-def. Available light.

Default Overpriced hotels in the Black Hills

I do not bother going to the Black Hills in the summer due to the expensive hotel rooms. When I was younger, I can remember my parents complain how much the rooms were, even back in '91. A person would stay in a iffy hotel and still pay enough money for it. If I go to the Hills, I would go in the offseason to avoid the crowds and the unreasonable prices.

IMHO, the summertime is a nice time to go to the Hills. The prices are a bit higher, but the reason they were so astronomical when the OP checked is because it was right during Sturgis week. They really do gouge those bikers and eventually it may become a deterrent. But generally, their rooms aren't really out of line with other tourist destinations.

Winter in the Black Hills is very beautiful and fun too. Snowmobiling, ice fishing, and going to Terry Peak or Deer Mountain to ski or snowboard are always options that one has.

I just hope they get SOME snow this year!

Oh no, Danny!!!! Don't wish for snow.

Yea, I'm sure there's a lot of beauty out there in the wintertime, but keep in mind, I'm the Dakotan who always whines about the cold and snow.
