Info on Meckling, SD (Sioux Falls, Yankton: houses, schools, university)

Just wondering if there is anyone in here from Meckling, SD? I need some information that I can't find anywhere on the internet about Clay County. Help!!

It has been rumored that Clay County has turned to dirt and henceforth will be called "Loam County." From various accounts it's been confirmed that girls from Meckling like to go neckling on a date.

Meckling is "okay", but the cool thing is it's smack dab between Vermillion and Yankton, and less than an hour from Sioux Falls and Sioux City.

If you are in Meckling, stop at Toby's. They are known for having good chicken. I passed through Meckling when I went to school at USD in Vermillion (Verm town) and heading to Yankton to eat out or shop. I have stopped at Toby's once or twice and had good food there. It is basically a small town restaurant and has old photos of Meckling inside the restaurant.

There is a sign just west of Mecking on Hwy. 50 that says, ""Meckling, next 5 exits."

My sis lives near there.

Vermillion is the county seat and you certainly can find info. on that since the University of South Dakota is located there. Meckling is halfway between Yankton and Vermillion. Even though it does say "Meckling next five exits," Don't blink your eyes, you might miss it. No schools, churches, etc. a cluster of houses and a fertilizer business. It is very very flat there since it is in the Missouri River valley and it is the alfalfa capitol of the universe! At least that's what some there claim.

It's a great place to live if you plan to farm and raise alfalfa.
