Peggy, I hope so, too. Yes, I've noticed that it's been windy down there and believe it or not, it's been warmer up here the past few days then it has been in your area.
Robyn, I understand exactly what you're saying about the wind looking familiar. It blows SO often here and I understand it's cause we're in an area where fronts generally collide.

Thanks to everyone for the photos!
The photos Snowbunny76 posted are gorgeous, I'm wondering where each photo was taken? If it was the "Black Hills" area, do you happen to remember the towns they are closest to?
I've kind of clicked on pages at random in this link, so I'm particularly interested in photos on pages 8 and 9.

Danny, thank you for posting "Hills" pics. It is SO nice out there. Is it because it's late in the season or is your area still in a bit of a drought? I know it had been going on for the previous seven years, but thought you got quite a bit of rain this past summer. It used to be absolutely lush out there and it looks like the grass is still suffering a bit.

I think the grass seems to be brown because I took those pictures in early October when things began to dry up. We did get quite a bit of rain at the beginning of this summer, but then we got those RECORD BREAKING temperatures that diminished any hope of fertile green grass.
Western South Dakota, and especially the Black Hills, is very arid compared to most any other part of the state. Hence all of the forest fires we receive. There have been a few controlled burn lately, so I hope fire is not a problem like it has been in the past.

Nice pics of Rapid City, Danny!
I don't have many scenery pics. So here are some pics of one of my cars with some Black Hills beauty as a backdrop.
Pactola Reservoir .. believe this is where Rapid City get it's water supply...it's very big, the pic doesn't show that well. There was a town here before the reservoir..
Profile of Washington at Mt Rushmore...
The 2007 Sturgis Mustang Rally...bet you thought all Strugis did was motorcycle rallies....lol! You can faintly see the mountain peaks on the horizon....

Nice 'Stang traveler!
I think it is interesting how in your Pactola picture, you can see how high the water used to be by the line going acroos the rocks in the foreground. I fell through the ice on Pactola when I was about 12 years old. I fell by the Marina. It isn't even covered by water today...
Less chance of falling in now I guess!
