Debey, those are pretty pics. There's a spot of the James near here that I think is so nice and peaceful, too. (During the summertime, of course) I don't fish, but it's just a nice place to sit and relax.

this is the same bridge that I postd on 29 nov.(fall scene} The bridge is scheduled for removal, and replacement culvets will be installed. I'm going to miss this bridge, for the rest of my life.

Beautiful pictures, Debey! Here in northeast Nebraska, we woke to the same gorgeous winter scenery this morning. That heavy frost on everything is absolutely breathtaking! Just one more reason that I adore winter here in the midwest.

Here are some pictures from Spring of 2007 on the soggy weather conditions in Lincoln County, mostly south of Lennox. Water everywhere. Ironically, July was a bone dry month in the area. The land is flat and water pools up easily when there is a very wet weather pattern obviously.

I study maps and Google Earth very much. I came across the following shot and came to the conclusion that it was, at one time eons ago, a volcanic vent hole from when the Black Hills was formed. This picture is just outside Sundance Wyo, a mere 10 miles from the SD line. The ring of rocks outside the tree area is especially important as they were heaved up by the initial vent opening. The center appears to have collapsed in on itself. I have asked many in Sundance about it, and all I get is "just hills and valleys and trees"!
