If you have Microsoft's Virtual Earth, that picture is extremely clear! Never knew it was there...whatever it is.

I just took a quick tour around the Sundance area, and there's a couple more of those (not quite as clear) just south of I-90, between Hwy. 116 & Hwy 585. Very interesting.

The one furthest West is called Inyan Kara. The Lakota hold it as sacred ground. It is where their people went to get to the "Happy Hunting Ground". They also refer to it as the Thunder God. If camped there, you can hear rumblings in the ground.

The one East of there I know nothing about. haha

The Black Hills is a geological mystery. With Bear Butte, Devil's Tower, Cosmos, caves underneath the entire Black Hills, and the fact that they just spring up in the middle ofthe prairie.

The island in an ocean of grass.

Since everything is so barren, I thought it was time for some autumn flowers. We were out driving around last autumn and I thought these were so pretty. Amateur here so my shadow is in the pic.

Nice and colorful, Jammie. I like the bright colors and the sunset of the picture. Actually, the shadow adds character to the picture. Well done.

Thank you, Chris. The thing I worried about is the fact that my hoodie on my jacket makes me look like a hump back.

Nice pic Jammie. I love to see actual shots like this, not just the professional landscape photos you see on travel sites.

Really like the pics, there was one that was a pic of the inside of a building that had pillers, christmas decor, and I've lived in SD all my life and didn't recognize it. Where was it? It looked just beautiful.
