At least. Some drifts even higher. One house down the street had a drift that blended right into the roof. Took me and 3 neighbors 2-3 hours to dig out my driveway and the one neighbors white car. Had to do it since the next day I needed to get to the airport to fly to Guam. Even so we didn't make the opening wide enough and I had to say to heck with it and plow into it in reverse with the Tahoe to knock out a corner of it. That was fun along with getting to see the rest of base. Lots and lots of drifts with the smallest being 3-4 feet and where they blocked the road only wide enough to fit one car at a time through.

AFDude, those are great pics. What I remember most about that day is how terrible the storm was all morning long and then around 2 o'clock it cleared up and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Typical Black Hills weather, eh?

Thanks! oh yeh you can even see it in my pics...hardly see the other side of the court in the first pics then kinda see over there then look at that sun and green grass...lol. Sometimes I'm still in amazement how quick the weather changes in Western SD.

I love the sky in that pic. Was it taken in Ind.? The only Ardmore I've heard of is OK so I was just curious.

I am flying in to Pierre at the end of October. I moved from there in 1961 at the age of 9. I have stayed in touch with my best friend from Pierre all these "47" years and she is meeting me there. I now live in Louisiana. If anyone has pictures of Pierre, I would love to see them. I am so excited about seeing my friend and we plan to visit all the places we used to go, if they're still there!! Thanks in advance for any pictures or information you might have. One more question...there used to be a museum across from the Capital and my friend and I walked through a tunnel under the street from the museum to the Capital. Is it still there?

Thank you both for letting me learn something new. I'd never heard of Ardmore except Oklahoma.
I have no idea what page they are on, but I also posted some pics of the Capitol decorated at Christmas time. There should also be some of the grounds with the War Memorial, too.
