Default South Dakota Pictures

I thought it may be fun to post some pics of our towns and state so people from other areas get an idea of what it looks like here. My fave parts of the forum are the pic areas. Bear with me and keep in mind, I'm a rookie at photography and all I use are disposable cameras. Just thought it'd be nice to give others a look into our state. These are pics of my town.

Jammie, Why didn't you get up close and personal to the palace? A lot of people don't realize that the Corn Palace is really corn. haha

I remember the first time I went there, I walked around dragging my chin on the ground because I couldn't believe it. Weren't more then 10 or so but I realized just how much work went in to making something that beautiful.

Pie, you're very welcome.

Guzzler, I'll have to skim through my BOXES and ALBUMS (and more albums) of pics cause I know we have a few close ups of the Palace. We went out for a bit today and took some pics of our park and I'll post them in the future. Do you have any pics of the Hills area? I found a couple of them today and just scanned them now.

For newcomers, I live on the Prairie. (or that's what it used to be) These scenes are about a half a day West of me.

The pics are a bit cloudy and part of the reason is I'm a poor photographer and the other reason is that it was so foggy and rainy the day I took them. In case anyone is curious of how to gauge the actual size of Mt. Rushmore, the trees you see are full grown Black Hills Spruce.

This outdoor scene is an hour east of me at Falls Park. It's at the low end of the Falls and it's so peaceful there. The second pic is a small part of the state Capitol in Pierre when it's decorated for the Christmas season.

You have to first load the pictures to something like Photobucket.com Then simply copy the url listed under the picture. Paste it in a post and you got it.

Right and also, you have to only use IMG now since none of the others will work for copying and pasting. I tried the link and couldn't get it to work. I'll delete it for you, but please try again.

Just set up an account at photo bucket and follow the directions. You can easily upload them from your documents. Then click on IMG below the pic you've selection, copy, then paste it on here.

If you can get me a link, I can try to post the pic for you.
