Haunting Morgana is on a distinguished road
Default Webster & Bristol SD

Hello

I've been thinking of both North and South Dakota to relocate to.

I found some nice homes in the cities of

Webster

and

Bristol.

They both seem to be very peaceful places to live. Webster does seem to have a bit more going on.

K, my main concern is flooding. I'd greatly appreciate it if some information could be given on the chances of floods there and if so, how often and what to expect, etc.

Thanks!

Hi I work at the National Weather Service in Grand Forks ND...and know something about that area weather-wise. I have travelled through that area on the way to Aberdeen and Webster and Day county is in the glacial lakes region....quite hilly and higher elevation than surrounding areas. It does have lots and lots of lakes....but no rivers do go through webster or bristol so river flooding as such would not occur. Thus would think flooding is a lower concern for sure than locations near a river. That being said, if you get 8 inches of rain in 6 hours anywhere it can cause standing water and some flooding. But overall chances for any water flooding will be lower than normal. As for the towns...webster being the county seat would have more going for it...but it is still quite small. Hunting and fishing are big.

I have relatives in that area. Great place to grow up. Mainly farm country.
