We're getting a new Bel Cheese plant here which will add 200-400 jobs that look to be the second highest paying for factory work only behind the 3M. Can't deny that this town has quite a bit going for it, unfortunately it lacks some of the natural landforms that make other areas great... the sioux river here doesn't have nice Dells like to the south, it's a big messy swampy floodplain that takes up several miles from side to side.
We do have Oakwood lakes, Lake Campbell, and further away Poinsett and Thompson, along with numerous little streams and small lakes for fishing I didn't even know existed if it wasn't for geocaching.
Wish we had natural beauty where we could stick parks like places like Pierre, Yankton, etc. do. I look at Pierre's recreation areas and it makes me want to make a trip there just to check them out. The island areas southeast of town there where I could take a good book and chair and relax.
Of course there's more to life than scenery and everyone has different interests.

Plenty of pheasants around here. They are everywhere. Plus a great jogging route I use that I have no complaints about at all.
Wherever you go make sure it has the amenities, climate, etc. you are looking for. Google is your friend.
