No, it probably won't. Some folks may not approve - maybe not understand is a better way to put it - but they're not going to pillory you either.

Whenever I see a gay couple being intimate I don't really think much of it. I'm sure most people around here feel the same way. Anymore, we are so used to homosexuality and the lifestyle that we just shrug it off. Have you seen the new Levi's commercial or the Dolce & Gabbana commercial? Homosexuality is even in advertising now.

From Danny Banany... "If you are homosexual, athiest, an artist, or anything that has to do with aModerator cut: different lifestyle you may want to stick with Sioux Falls, Rapid City, or Spearfish. These cities are more liberal and open to whatever it is that you do. A gay couple in a midwest town of 5,000 will probably cause some ruckus! "
Um...er...Danny, I work in clay and fiberglas; just recently I had a five-foot long, three-foot high fiberglas mermaid on display in a local park... When I was in ID I did rather unusual-for-the-area ice sculptures (dolphins, etc)... I was sorta looking forward to indulging in my artistic expressions when I move. I do murals on my walls at home as well... Does that mean I might have a problem in the smaller towns?
Would I be considered "bohemian" if I practiced organic greenhouse gardening and used horses instead of my pickup truck for work? Or just "strange' and 'eclectic'?

Reason: changed word as I did in the post you're quoting.

No, I didn't mean that you will have problems fitting in. I just meant that it would probably be easier to express yourself without judgement in a larger, more liberal town than a rural one.

Moderator cut: sentence orphaned
Just because of my back ground, is no reason to dislike. Did you grow up in a neighborhood that there were strange people? They were different then you so, there for, they were bad? Do bohunks commit all the crime in your area? Are they the rapists?
I'm just not sure that I'm comfortable with being labeled like that. Just my opinion though, and you are certainly entitled to yours.

Haha! Bohemian lifestyle doesn't mean Bohunks or Czech people. A Bohemian lifestyle is a lifestyle of taboos and individualism; like hipsters or beatniks for example. I did not mean to offend Czechs or Bohunks... I'M HALF CZECH!

Mitchell is a nice city.
I believe part of the drug problem is due to it being a "college" town. Too, like someone said, a lot of drug traffic is due to the interstate and they get caught here so it goes on the record. A great increase in drugs came about as a result of increase of people from south of the border (and I don't mean Nebraska) coming to live in this area

Yes. EVERYTHING is because of people "south of the border."
Last time I was in Mitchell my wife and kid were the ONLY Latinos I saw.
I KNEW he was hiding stuff in his soccer ball...

You're pretty spot on there. We have very few Latinos in our area. At one time, there were basically none, but there are a few now. I also believe that some live in smaller towns west of here and mainly come to Mitchell to shop.
But it is true that our crime spikes during the summertime and some of it is due to I-90 being right here. AND it's basically too cold to go out on a crime spree during the winter.
