i purchased this dvd,last week. Enjoyed the scenery, thru out the movie. Main Street, Carthage SD IS true to life....

I checked all of the Sioux Falls theaters, and it isn't playing here...but i guess i figured that...I wanted to see it because of Carthage, and the part South Dakota plays in it... what didn't you like about it Jammie?

Danny, I guess it just goes to show that we all like different movies.
 We also went to see it cause it was partially filmed here. Debey, did you like it? MJ, I didn't like the sadness of it. Since you haven't seen it yet, I don't want to go into detail, BUT it just seemed like such a wasted young life. Most people would love to have the life that was originally dealt to him so it's just hard to understand why he went through all that misery just to prove that he was a man. He had all the comforts of life, his parents offered him a new car, his parents gave him a free education, etc. Yet he chose to starve himself and freeze to death in a broken down bus in Alaska. Guess it just didn't make sense to me.

it was ''double'' BITTERSWEET, for us to watch. 1)..the storyline, in general 2)one of the ''local'' actresses, in the CARTHAGE/BARS SCENE(the girl with long blonde hair, that slaps the guy in the face), is a young woman, who died in auto accident shortly after filming. if I lived in a bigger town, I would have RENTED this movie....but it's not cost effective, or ''convenient'' to rent movies....
