I'm thinking about spending a week volunteering on the Pine Ridge through a group called "Re-member", that basically organizes and dispenses volunteers for the pine ridge reservation. Anyone ever do this or heard of this, and if so, comments or thoughts.
I have never heard of the group and apparently no one else has either. I did a search of the internet and came up with nothing. Most people who do volunteer work on the Pine Ridge, work thru a church. How did you find out about this group?
I suggest you take a look at the organization One Spirit. They are a "Native American service organization founded to assist and support American Indians w/current focus on Reservations in S. Dak." Their website is ONE Spirit - An American Charity in Support of the Oglala Lakota and they are also on Facebook and Twitter.
Before I began giving money to them I researched them pretty thoroughly - they are legit and do good work on Pine Ridge.
