AkMiller is on a distinguished road
Default Lemmon SD

Guess I had a few questions about Lemmon SD. I see quite a few real estate deals from there and was wondering if Lemmon Is shrinking growing or staying about the same size.

The number of real estate deals and the prices make me wonder if the town is all but disappearing off the map. Or Maybe, just maybe, the owners of these properties are just reaching retirement age at the same time (baby boomers).

What do you all know about Lemmon SD?

Thanks in advance,
Ron

I've been to Lemmon a few times... the population is around 1500 probably....it's known for its petrified wood park and museum...it's located in an isolated area...the closest "big city" is Dickinson, ND...and thats about 90 miles away. I haven't been there in probably 4 or 5 years...but I'm almost positive it isn't growing...

From my understanding, Lemmon is shrinking. I remember looking at encyclopedias from the 1960s when I was younger. Lemmon had well over 2,000 people. I guess the decline is due to a consolidation of agriculture and a number of the young people leaving the area after high school and never moving back due to limited job opportunities.
