Pine Ridge information (Rapid City: lease, houses, to live)

Husband and I are looking into moving on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Does anyone have any information on the Indian Health Clinic/Hospital. Or the housing provided by the Hospital???

Any info reguarding churches- Non-denominational.

I am aware of the conditions out there. We are not city people. We live in Upper Michigan by Lake Superior.

Any info or links to sites would be great, Thanks!

Sioux San Indian Healthcare Services is located in Rapid City about 100 miles or so west of Pine Ridge. I am not sure about healthcare on the rez itself.

Pine Ridge has a fairly new hospital (I would say about ten years olds), it is just east of town. The hospital does have housing, if I recall correctly they call it the compound. Never been in any of the houses but they look pretty good from the street.

I know quite a few people that work at the hospital live off the rez, Rushville, NE and Chadron, NE are a couple of places, there are other places as well.

Husband and I are looking to live on the Rez. If there is no housing available at the Hospital I guess we look close by. From the information I've recieved there is a housing shortage out there to begin with and the residents of the county do not even have decent housing?
What churches close to Pine Rige are multicultural and diverse?

You really can not live on the Pine Ridge Sioux Reservation. There are 4 white families that live there and have for 80 years. They had land grandfathered in. They do not lease land, except on rare occasions.
