For those of you with inquiry minds, here is a couple pics of last years finds with a metal detector in the old Ghost Towns. I hope they are not too big to load.

Bob, where did you find those amazing coins? If they have Napoleon Bonaparte on them they must come from way back in the frontier days of fur trading.

The Napolean coins were part of a parcel of 11 coins found in a much deteriated coin purse that was buried about 6" deep. It contained coins from all foreign countrys. If you ask me it was from someones collection. Thats all I can figure. They all were in the late 1800's. That parcel came from a place I neglected to name on the other list. It was Bugtown, SD. Located North and West of Custer SD. All that is left is foundations. Most of the old Ghost Towns are just mere foundations. Like I said, I have a blast at those Ghost Towns.

I remember the old bar quite well. Dirt floor covered with peanut shells.

My mother in law grew up in that area. Her dad still ranches along the Cheyanne.
But one of my husband's favorite stories is the night two of his uncles got into a fight in the Scenic bar and one shot the other! Of course that was back in their drinking days and they both were quick to forgive a few days later.
And in light of the fact that my husband and a buddy got chased out of the bar in Oelrichs one night a few years ago by a drunk Indian lady with a newly formed posse (she woke from a stupor at the bar swearing to kick all the white men's *****es... Upon further perusal, my husband and friend realized they were the only white guys in the bar so they decided it was time to head home. lol), I'm going to bet Scenic's bar still isn't a quiet family establishment, either.

OH I don't know, Pejuta. You seem to be doing fairly well for your age. It's always good to hear from you.
