The movie industry does do exactly what it wants, eh?

Homesick!
That movie made me homesick! I was sure it was SYlvan Lake too! It was great to see the views of the Hills though! I have a couple more South Dakotanisms for ya!
1. If an outfit is something you drive (and not wear) you might be from South Dakota.
2. If someone tells you that there are plenty of places to stop and use the bathroom between Belle Fourche and Dickinson, ND, then they have to be from South Dakota and they mean you can use a ditch and/or an outhouse at a Church! (not that here is exactly a running water bathroom along the way espcecially after dark when the local store/cafe is closed!!) This happened to us for real!
3. You put your groceries in a sack and not a bag in South Dakota!
4. You might be from South Dakota if you wear socks with your sandals in the winter! (Yes even if it's snowing!)
5. You don't wear a coat in winter unless it gets REALLY cold like 10-20 below O degrees F ! WHo can drive in a big coat anyway?!
6. YOu might live in South Dakota or at least Sturgis if at the elementary school kids still have to play outside in winter as long as it's ya know above 10 degrees or so outside!
All in fun! I love South Dakota and can't wait to come back!
Pam

If you leave South Dakota and end up going by South Dakota cars and bumping into South Dakotans (and talking for a hour), you might be a South Dakotan.
When the choice of a truck involves only Chevy, GMC, Ford, or Dodge, you might be a South Dakotan.
When you debate about which is better, East River vs. West River, you might be a South Dakotan.
The other jokes on the thread are hillarious.

 I like this thread.
Pammy, you live in Tx. now right? Are you planning on moving back here? And I totally agree~I could've sworn that was Sylvan Lake in the movie.

If you like to tell some iffy Ole and Lena Jokes, you might a South Dakotan.
In most South Dakotan towns, there is either a Cenex, COOP, or Sinclair station.

You betcha!
Yes we live in TX now but we have some land still South of Rapid City between Hermosa and Custer and we plan on builiding there in 5-6 years and moving back! Lots of good memories there!
Pam
Here's another one that really happened to us:
If you move across town and a package is accidentally shipped to your old address, and the new homeowners track you down to deliver your package--you are probably in South Dakota!
