Can anybody tell me if the cemetary above Hill City is still open.
My father's parents are both buried there. My grandfather homesteaded above Hill City and the last time I was there, I found a sign "Simkins Gultch", but didn't locate his homestead - only my great uncle's homestead, which is now a hay barn. I did find his parents' graves in a cemetary above the town.
My father (Verne Simkins) died this afternoon and I was wondering if it would be possible to bury him next to his father. Dad is a graduate of South Dakota School of Mines. He would have been 88 tomorrow.
