Unhappy horse boarding near deadwood

I'm want to move to Deadwood in the spring, but just found out the place I was going to board my mare (7Down in Spearfish) no longer takes outside horses. Can't leave without her, had her 18 years! There might be an opening in March at the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid and I'll commute if necessary but would like to find something a bit closer. Her team penning days are done due to age and a touch of arthritis so an arena and flat trails would be a plus. Any help or ideas would be appreciated, thanks for your time.

See if there aren't some stables near Deadwood or somewhere in the Northern Hills (Spearfish, Sturgis, Belle Fourche). Commmuting to Rapid City for a horse would get old really fast. Also, ask around for people who keep horses. People up here are friendly and I am sure they would love to help you out!

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm googling those towns and will also contact local realtors I met last summer. If they want to sell me a house, find a place for my horse! You're right - time is too precious to be spent in traffic - one reason why I left San Diego. Everyone I met the times before in the Black Hills were just that - very friendly.
