I would venture a guess and say that you'll spend all summer in Wall and visiting the area and never see a rattle snake.
The only time I've seen them is along the rivers and creeks. Normally rattle snakes don't like water. But mice and stuff stick close to water and that's one of the main food groups for snakes so the snakes hang out where dinner is served.

I am a rockhound. Yes, I collect rocks and minerals. I spend days in the hot prairies and gravel beds hunting different minerals. In the last 15 years, I have came across two (2) rattlesnakes, but they let me know ahead of time they were there. They are just as afraid of you as you are of them. Just do not reach under a rock outcrop or ledge without first looking. You should have no problem.
