Is broadband internet access pretty common in Rapid City? That is one thing I'd really have a hard time living without, especially since I'm going to school online and am considering the possibility of also teaching online..

Yes, it's available. We even have in door potty's now. Joking aside, broad band is redily available and at a decent price.

Construction work in Rapid City? please help...
Does anyone know if construction jobs are still doing good in Rapid City area? We're in Arkansas now but looking to relocate to just about anywhere we can find stable work. Rapid City was recommended... any help at all very appreciated, really!

All construction jobs are always hiring. There aren't enough people willing to work them. Keep in mind, pay stinks here compared to many places across the country. Depends where you're coming from.

I wanted to post again and send a BIG thank you to DannyBanany - although the specific construction companies and numbers didn't pan out, we did take several points of your advice and have called around in Rapid City - we MIGHT (fingers crossed, saying prayers!)...might finally have a job!!! YEAH! We've looked ALL over the nation, and have been getting very desperate... although the wait isn't entirely over, we have made contact with someone at All Star Construction (do you know this company, by the way?) and a man named Rick Garner may give us a chance! We're very hopeful... any and all prayers appreciated!
*big smiles*

Oh, that is fantastic!!! There really are states that are doing ok economy-wise. So. Dak., No. Dak., Wyo., Tx. and a few others. That could change in time, but let's keep our fingers crossed that our entire country doesn't fall into a slump. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm not personally familiar with All Star Construction (or any other construction company, really) but I've seen them around. I think they build residences more than businesses.
