Default Seebee

I use to live in Oregon....the rain drove me bonkers! Give me snow anyday! I do not mind walking in the snow (as in hiking/walking).

I have lived in about 6 U.S. states, and the current state I live in just is not working out for a number of reasons despite all the research I did. So yes, I am looking at relocating to Rapid City or another city.

Just please keep South Dakota quiet!

Thanks to the 2 individuals for posting population stats.

Thank you everybody I am looking at Sioux Falls and Rapid City now. I like what Rapid City has to offer. I would like to find a job first before I move out there. Also if you know what is the singles scene like since I am single and not seeing anybody. As well is it possible to find a apartment with most if not all utilities included in the rent? What is good price for rent? Like I said Rapid City sounds great to me being a outdoors man, I do not mind snow being from Canada originally.

The best place for you to meet people is going to be at work. People like to work here in Sioux Falls. Haha!! That's just in my experience, though. There are lots of bars for socialization, but at many of them, you'll find them to be kind of cliquey. People kind of hang out with who they came with. I suppose you find that anywhere.
I personally like to say church is a good place to meet people, but that's sometimes hard too as a single person unfortunately.

There are tons of bars to choose from in Rapid City, but I heard that you should never date someone you met in a bar!
Many apartments come with all utilities paid or at least water and cable. Most 1 bedroom apartments in Rapid City run in the 500-700 range. 3 bedrooms run about 600+. You will love the outdoor scene in Rapid City; maybe you should look for your special someone that way!

It's a little bit dryer and warmer here too.

Danny, I've seen listings in the RC Journal that have 1/1 apartments that run as low as 300-500. Are they decent or pretty much dumps?

I'm sure that they're boarding houses or shared homes. The West Boulevard District has a few of these due to older homes and that is a very nice area of town. Most other 1/1 apartments for that price are found on the north side of town and are likely to be trashy.

Next time you look at apartments in the paper, look at the address. If the street is named after a President (Van Buren), large city (Philadelphia), a color (Silver) or a number (157th), then it is on the north side of town. Just a rule of thumb.

Hey, I love the "DannyBanany" Guide to Rapid City!! Kind of like an abridged version of the Thomas Guide. This info and similar types of threads are worth tucking away for future reference. Thanks!

Just curious was it cheaper to fly to Rapid City then fly to Sioux Falls from Atlanta?
