Nursery Greenhouse operations central and south central SD
Just wondering if this market is full up out there?
I realize definitive information might be hard to get here but just wondering what the general concensus is .....do you believe there is room in the market up there.
I run a small tree , shrub and perennial nursery here where i live and wondering if there is an appetite for gardening material and or greenhouse crops in the eastern half of SD.
Any insight or opinions welcome.

South Central SD consists mostly of Winner, Colome, Gregory and other small towns in that area. Are you looking there or around Vermillion-Yankton?
Most larger towns have nurseries but I'm sure there is always room for more!

Ive just been searching properties all around SD....mostly eastern and south eastern.....I just thought I would pose the question and see what came back.
Yes I have been looking extra hard at that vermillion/yankton/ sioux falls triangle area. At this point I guess Ive made no hard fast decisions and just looking all over, kind of mitchell watertown yankton triangle and surrounding areas. I realize thats a hugh area but Im just kind of fishing at this point. Going to make a trip out very soon for a look around.

Is Gurney's Seed and Nursery still in Yankton? I thought it was, but I could be wrong.

According to a recent item on South Dakota Magazine's website, Jay Gurney still runs a nursery in Yankton although the large corporation that had bought them out is gone. Might be a good place to check out when you come to South Dakota.
