In actuality, I don't believe there is a "top choice" in these Presidential candidates. It's almost as if we have to choose the lesser of two evils. Hillary's just automatically out and she has to come to terms with that. Right now she is just wasting her time and money and she is making it easy for these Republicans that are choosing her in the primary just so McCain will have a better shot.
Sure, Obama is young and inexperienced in Washington politics but I think he has the fresh new ideas that Americans are interested in. The past 8 years have been a political and economical nightmare. People just cannot afford to live like they used to. I work two jobs and I just get by. I don't understand how people with kids and a mortgage can afford it. Hats off to them!
Our political system needs to change and I believe Obama would be best for us.

nice post danny, we are always stuck with the lesser of two evils, pres job just doesnt pay enough to attract real intellects. That said I think Mcain will do well and nobody can say he doesnt deserve the job.
He's been elected probably more than both the others put together. Obamas voting record makes it impossible for me to vote for him.

I think that Obama will have an edge in South Dakota over Hillary similar to that of Nebraska, Kansas, and North Dakota. I am not sure about Montana and do not know enough of Montana to make a valid guess.
Bush has made good contributions to our country in the past seven years and that cannot be discounted. He had a lot of courage of handling the woes of 9-11. It was hard for him and would be hard for any president. I agreed with his decision to go into Afghanistan, due to it being a terrorist haven and there was a clear justification for it (terrorists of 9-11 spent time in Aghanistan). There are some instances such as Hurricane Katrina and the mismanagement of the Iraq War with Donald Rumsfeld that I am not pleased with Bush along with his handling of domestic policies such as No Child Left Behind (which gives less flexiblity for teachers to teach, is not good for learning impared kids, and discourages creativity in learning that helps kids develop problems solving and reasoning skills).
I hope that whoever is our next president, Democrat or Republican, will help our nation deal with its woes and come out stronger as a result. McCain did a very honorable job serving our country during the Vietnam War Era, when the war was unpopular by many. He has an independent streak and I think that he would have a steadier hand when dealing with domestic and foreign issues than Bush and would be more apt to work with the Democrats and find common ground on some issues. I am hesitant to vote for him due to his age and personality.
Obama may be an unkown or may seem iffy, but he is a young, new, and fresh face in Washington and will bring a sense of opportunity. He is perfectly capable of running the country well. Although he has not been in Washington, DC as long as Hillary and McCain, he has real-life expereience working with the poor and has not been corrupted by the pettiness of Washington, DC attidude. He was poor himself and worked his way up, which should be commended.
The opinions are interesting. Although I may not agree with some of the opinions (more so on the conservative side), the comments bring up good points and were well-thought out. One thing to remember is that we should feel fortunate to be able to convey our views on politicians, issues, and other items as this would be a big "no-no" in Iran, China, and Russia (under Putin's watch).

I'm with Chris in Obama...but some more news...Hillary Clinton was here today... She talked to the Argus Leader editorial board... Then she went to Brandon and Brookings. And Bill Clinton will be in Fort Thompson and Wagner and another town I can't think of. Seems like the Clintons are here every other day.

Yes, they really do seem to be campaigning quite hard here, which surprises me. I wish Obama would come back.
It sounds like Hillary made a bit of a boo-boo when asked why she's staying in the race. But you know how the news media is~they may be reading more into it then she actually meant. Or are they????

I was watching her live on the Argus Leader web site as she talked with the editorial board... And as soon as she said it, I didn't understand why exactly she said it... A confusing comment really... but it wasn't the best thing to say

Actually it made a lot of sense. She mentioned Mr Kennedy being assasinated in June. He was assasinated while on the campaing trail. What she meant is that when he ran for Pres, the campaining run well into June, so why should she quit now? Unfortunate that she used that as a reference instead of just saying that he was still on the trail in June.

Bit of back story:
Last time Bill Clinton was running, he went down to Pine Ridge. He wanted to meet with the Grey Eagle Society (Elders). They decided instead of meeting with him, they would go out on the prairie and say a prayer for him.

Oh that is funny!!! Bill has been campaigning on the reservations again. He was just in Ft. Thompson today and another one~Was it Pine Ridge? It sounds like Hillary will be back in the state the middle of this week, too.
