Default Advice on starting a business here?

Hey all - I'm originally from Wall, SD but moved to Nashville in 2001 for college. I'm now wanting to get back west and build my business, but am stuck trying to decide between CO and SD.

Without getting into too much detail, my company provides a wide set of services in entertainment and media. Online marketing and advertising, web production and design, brand management/strategy, and other entertainment-related things. I can operate this business out of my home, and virtually from anywhere. However I want to be in a location with local potential for clients (which don't HAVE to be entertainment related) as well as other high-energy entrepreneurs. The other issue is that I don't want to live in an apt forever, and housing costs in/around Rapid are lower than CO, but there are several trade offs.

Does anyone have any advice? I'll certainly provide further detail if necessary.

I am sure that you would have more business in Colorado, but you would also have much more competition. I am interested in studying Advertising and Communications in college. How's it working out for you?

It's going great! I've been working in the entertainment industry in Nashville for the last 7 years, but am pretty sick of Nashville's environment (both climate/pollen wise and people-wise). Definitely need a change, and want something West.

Specific to you - there is a LOT of chaos right now, with the old guard (in advertising) having less and less impact and a slew of new media options that are taking off. Would love to network further with you - shoot me an email: taylor@traskentertainment.com.
