eastern lady is on a distinguished road
Thanks for sharing ... I usually buy organic compost by the bag ... we also have wild animals here that come close to the house ... deer just love the hosta plants among others ... one time I had a coyote come & eat pears right off the tree - we also feed the birds & have raccoons come to the feeders at night ... an occassional fox... black bears destroyed our beehives one year - ended up putting an elec. fence around the hives ... we live next to a state park - & Mt. Pawtuckaway which is mostly woods .. there are rattle snakes up there ... but haven't seen any close to the house ... I share the garden with a couple harmless garden snakes... we don't bother each other. The snapping turtles have been up from our wild pond this week to lay their eggs... we don't have the mt. lions here - but do have fisher cats which are very mean... looking forward to seeing a different kind of wildlife in SD...

Deer kept getting into my garden. So I planted 2 rows of Jalapeno plants completely around the garden. They no longer mess with my garden.
