Smile More Black Hills Trip Pics

I'm going to post some random pics here of some of the city streets and so forth. This could just go into the Picture "Sticky" at the top at some point but I figured I'd make it a stand alone topic for now as a tie in to the other two posts.

Here is my LOVELY Wife at Mount Rushmore the day after the fireworks:

Here are a couple of baby bears climbing a tree at "Bear Country USA"

Here is Kevin Costner's "Midnight Star" Casino in Deadwood. I won $5 on the first slot I played, gave those coins to my wife who then immediately won $15.

Here are a few in a row of the streets of Deadwood:

One on the way to Crazy Horse

Here are a couple at the "State Game Lodge" in Custer Park. they have GREAT food there! Eat there if you are in the area.

Here are my two Supermodels in Rapid

Here is the historical "Elks" Theater across from the Alex Johnson. Apparently, they had high profile western movie premiers there 50 years ago or more.

Here are a few from Downtown Custer, the painted Buffalo are pretty cool. Jake and I both liked this one best!

As I was walking to Mount Rushmore to catch the fireworks, this B2 Stealth Bomber flew over. It didn't look to me as if it actually went over Rushmore though. When I looked at the schedule of events today on the NPS website, it didn't mention a B2 fly by so I'm wondering if anyone else saw it? I was actually crossing the road when I heard it and was so startled to see it, I stopped to take the pics. I almost got hit by a car! I've never seen one in person before and I've been to many air shows.

Here are some of downtown Keystone:

Mammoth Site

The 1880 Train ride provided some AWESOME views!

For DannyB

Dances With Wolves Film Set

Black Hills Maze

They were lost...

The Millstone Restaurant on Lacrosse has a very good breakfast

Apparently Harrison Ford ate there once 10 or 12 years ago. They have his picture on the wall as you walk in...

Well, that's about it! Hope you enjoyed seeing them as much as I enjoyed being there!

BH, those are just beautiful!!! Thank you for posting pics of my favorite town~Keystone. I know, it's more like a village, but it's so cute.

The Midnight Star~does it have a restaurant upstairs? I think that's where we may have eaten on our last trip. We went up so old rickety steps to get to the restaurant. The casino was below. I'm thinking that was where the memorabilia and pics from Dances With Wolves is. Correct?

I'm glad you posted pics of the Cosmos. That will make Danny's day!!

Yep, the restaurant at the top is called "Jakes Fine Foods" I think, and yes there was a lot of movie memorabilia and such all over the place. You're welcome!

It sure did!

By the way, that picture of Harrison Ford at "The Milstone" has another special person in it... MY MOM! She waited on him back in 1993! It's so weird that you have that picture!!!

I'm glad you guys had a great trip! You have a very attractive family and you should be proud!

Thanks Danny! I'm very proud of them. They are just great.

BSW, we didn't make it to the bad lands but I wanted to. I think I drove about 800 miles that week and we were all just too wiped out from all the driving back and forth and over to the Devil's Tower. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. Everything was great. I would still like to spend a night in Spearfish Canyon Lodge someday and would love to have spent more time shooting pics of the Buffalo in Custer Park.
