I don't know that you would save enough in rent to make up for the increased gas costs... Volga would be the only one I would consider myself.

If you check out the link on Page 2 and scroll down the CD page, it will tell you the distance to the surrounding cities. It shows Volga as being 9.4 miles away from Brookings.

I've got to go along with what Busy said~I'd live right in Brookings. The roads can get icy and snow-covered, gas is expensive, general car repair is just higher, etc when you live out of town. It's also more convenient to live there. If it's a matter of 100 or 200 a month higher to live right in Brookings, you'll probably end up further ahead in the end.

Volga is like 5 miles from Brookings. Right off of Highway 14. And its 4 lane between Volga and Brookings. Its maybe 15 miles to the Minnesota State Line. Last trip to the twin cities cities we went through Brookings.

I like the town and several family members are SDSU Alum.

stockwiz is on a distinguished road
you need a permit to conceal carry, but they are easily obtained in a matter of minutes from the sheriff's office of the county you live in. I have one though I've never actually put it to use by carrying a weapon yet.
