Default Winner

hello,

Have heard a few nice things about this town.

Does anyone on this forum live there?

Wondering what it's like.

Thank you.

Hey there Pie!
I don't live in Winner but I do have some family from the area so maybe I can help you out. Winner is very small (maybe less than 6,000 people) and most everybody in that area knows everybody. There's a Pamida, Dollar General, and a few fast food places to eat. There's also a drive-in theater and I always thought that was kind of cool. Winters there are pretty cold and summers are very hot. It's also home to what used to be the largest John Deere dealership in the US.

I do some work down there every so often. I am not a big fan of the town. Taco John's Mc Donalds and perhaps a Pizza hut as far as a chain restaurants. Its about 40 miles from I-90. The population is 3,137 as of the 2000 census. Its a farming community. In the fall when pheasant season opens it is a popular gathering spot.
