Our gas has jumped 20 cents - went up to $1.74 on Thanksgiving day. I filled up for $1.44 a gallon that morning before the jump (had a discount with Kroger). Not all the stations went up at once - but it seems like they are all there now.

didnt go up in my town. It has some going down before it goes up. Decembers contract was at 50-55 dollars a barrel, while Novembers was 60-65 dollars a barell. should see gas at 1.65.

Please drive less everbody, its good for the environment, good for your health to walk some, wonderful for your wallet, and horrilbe for those evil jerks at OPEC who want to cut production just so they can gouge us some more. I don't know about you folks, but I have been scared straight, and its going a long time before I trust the pump again.

Very good comment in the second paragraph, Foreverking. I still conserve by driving 5-10 mph less on the highway and to make trips by going in one circle instead of zig-zaging through town or wherever. I have been also trying to limit some of my driving to save on fuel costs. Every little bit helps.

If everyone does their part and continues to do so on a collective basis, we can keep waste minimized and blunt the volatility of energy (which is harmful to our society and economy). A little common sense can go a long ways.

Just in case anyone wants to track the wholesale price of regular gasoline, the link below will take you to a chart that tracks the daily price. Of course this is the wholesale price from the New York Mercantile Exchange, and it will be considerably different from the retail price in any local area. The trend, however should be the same. If you look at the end of the chart, you will see that the wholesale price has bumped up about 20 cents per gallon in the last week and a half or so.

Ripco on Russell and Main in Sioux Falls dropped to $1.65 this morning. Put $15 in my truck (it was breathing fumes) and got just short of 3/4 tank. Gonna fill it this weekend, hope the price stays down till after I travel home for Christmas the first week of Jan. (I have to work Christmas, so doing Christmas for New Years.)
