In Newport, Oregon, gas is $1.92 at the cheap station. Ahhh, the joy of living at the edge of the world!

Drove to Sheldon, IA so my father can buy the vehicle and drive it home. $1.75 in Canton and Inwood, IA. $1.69 in Rock Valley, IA; Hull, IA; and Boyden, IA. One station in Hull and the stations in Sheldon were $1.63. Filled up in Rock Valley (getting low on gas-have not filled up for a week and a half) and topped the tank in Sheldon (got 31.6 mpg coming from Sheldon to the Sioux Falls area). Lennox is $1.69. I do not know why Canton and Inwood, IA were higher than everyone else.
Interesting drive and Dad bought the vehicle.
It is nice to pay $22.50 to fill up 3/4ths of a tank. I as tickeled pink with the mileage on the way home. Thanks to the 55 mph speed limits on the Iowa highways (a little too slow in my opinion, but helps the gas mileage).

Last weekend, after hearing that Colorado Springs is paying $1.49 and Elk Point and Rapid City are around $1.50, give or take a few cents, I thought that we were getting ripped off in Sioux Falls. Normally, Sioux Falls and Rapid City are comparable or Rapid City and Colorado Springs are a little higher, but not this time.

Jammie, it seems like they are slow in giving you and others in the Mitchell area the price breaks that others are receiving. I was in Mitchell about a month and a half ago and it was at least a dime or two higher than Sioux Falls even at that time. I wonder if the gas station owners still think that it is still tourist season. I do not know. It seems as tough there is some odd logic with gas prices (no matter how high or low). I know the feeling to a certain extent.
I often envy Omaha/Council Bluffs, St. Joe, MO, Des Moines, KC, and Sioux City due to those areas often being a good dime to fifteen cents cheaper usually. When I went to Omaha a week ago Sunday, Council Bluffs was $1.59, Omaha and Sioux City were in the low $1.60's, Elk Point and Vermillion exit were $1.69. Sioux Falls area was a $1.79, good greif.

We're still sitting at 1.86 up here for the lower grade stuff. I also noticed propane had gone down to, to 1.45 a gallon cash compared to 2.10 we paid back in September i think it was, might have been october though.

My neighbors went to Kansas City this past weekend and paid $1.36! We are sitting at $1.75 in the tri-cities of Nebraska.

Chris, you're right. It always stays so high here. It generally takes someone to write a letter to the Editor and it being published to drop our gas prices. Not sure what's up with that, but they all hang around the same price and no one is lowering it.
