Goes to show that those who blamed Bush for the price spikes (remember all the rhetoric about going to war for oil) was unfounded. The Democrats pulled a major ploy politically, and have been rewarded the last two election cycles.

Ironicall, the low prices can be attibuted to bush, as we are in such a bad financial position here in the US that nobody wants to spend money on gas right now. Thanks bush for the Ressession, I can now afford to get to the job that I still have this week (maybe not next week)
700K outa work, 700k not using gas to get to work. supply and demand. No ones using the gas, the price goes down.
Nice try

I wonder if the gas station owners still think that it is still tourist season. I do not know. It seems as tough there is some odd logic with gas prices (no matter how high or low). I know the feeling to a certain extent.
I often envy Omaha/Council Bluffs, St. Joe, MO, Des Moines, KC, and Sioux City due to those areas often being a good dime to fifteen cents cheaper usually. When I went to Omaha a week ago Sunday, Council Bluffs was $1.59, Omaha and Sioux City were in the low $1.60's, Elk Point and Vermillion exit were $1.69. Sioux Falls area was a $1.79, good greif.

I've noticed some crazy things too. Like everywhere the price of gas will be much lower, then there will be a pocket of several gas stations that keep prices 20 cents per gallon higher than the average for the region. I swear there is some type of collusion going on between these gas stations - but good luck in proving it.

Ripco is at $1.62, saw a short story in the Argus Leader, something about if gas drops another $10 a barrel, we may see prices at the pump drop below $1. Mixed feelings about this, really drives home the recession problem, but have not seen gas prices that low since before I could drive (ok, maybe once since then but don't really remember.)

1.55 in Northern CA today. I suspect it will drop more since the price of crude continues to drop. Got a kick out of the news the other day. They assured us that gas will NEVER drop below 45 cents a gallon. Thats what our state and federal tax is on each gallon.

We finally hit 1.75 a gallon up here in harding county. Down from 1.86 Earlier last week.
Funny thing, Snowbird, I remember gas at 99 cents a gallon, could take a 5 gallon gas can down for the lawn mower with 5 bucks and get it filled LOL. That gas can would usually last a couple months on our lawn mower too.
