Are you talking about the Black Hills again? Deadwood has legalized gambling and video lottery is everywhere. Rapid City probably has a couple dozen casinos, if not more, and people who gamble love to go up to Deadwood on the weekends. The popular ones are the Silverado, Deadwood Gulch, Franklin Resort, Mineral Palace, Midnight Star, and Cadillac Jacks. People go skiing up there too at the ski resorts.

If you're driving over from Illinois, there are casinos all along the way. The first one in eastern So. Dak. that you'd bump into is Royal River Casino at Flandreau. There are several on the reservations. In the area of Chamberlain there are two more casinos. One is in Ft. Thompson. One of them is Golden Buffalo and the other name just escapes me right now. There's also Fort Randall Casino down by Pickstown. The actual casinos are scattered around all over. You probably won't go into many gas stations where you won't find a mini-casino either.
