There is one standing up with mustache, cow boy hat and something in his hands. but the one i'm researching on is guy kneeling.

Contacted landstroms and BHG Stampers with no luck.
Any idea if this is a public statue? or if it is for private store advertising?

Thanks for all your help!

I've thought about Wall Drug, too...but wouldn't there be more ''clutter'' in the background?

The stamper guy is standing upright if I recall correctly and the building in the background is different at or near Stamper.
Per your first guess, I've been on the road to Deerfield from Hill City numerous times throughout the years and have never seen that statue. Can't speak to your second suggestion though. Will have to do some more digging.

What about contacting Patti McConville directly? I did a search on her and it appears that she did some work for Getty images......just throwing that out there to see if that would help.

Oh true. He may know. Michael Dupre from NBC Rapid City does an "Off the Beaten Path" feature every week too. Maybe you could send it to NBC Studios in Rapid City.

Contact Black Hills Badlands and Lakes association. They are kinda the group that stumps for tourist industry here.

I still think Custer might be the winner.
