Talking Found A Great Book!!!

I am always looking on Amazon (& ebay) for books on natural places. I have many on The Plains & Prairies! Don't exactly know how I got to this one, (anyone who knows "Amazon" knows how you look at one book & then somehow are looking at ones others bought or recommend - & then you end up on topics you didn't even start out with!!! )
but I came upon a book called "Dakota: A Spiritual Geography" - and not only did it get great reviews, but in looking through it (another great thing about Amazon! NO I don't work for them...) I saw Lemmon SD mentioned & I just HAD to share!!!
I didn't know whether to post this in General US, under the Lemmon SD thread, or just to start a new, but I decided that the most people who would appreciate it would be in the SD forum, but might not necessarily read the Lemmon thread. So there ya go.
I plan on ordering it cause it looks to be a wonderful book!
Just wanted to share!
(And hi to Jammie! )

Well, HI Elfy, I'm so glad you came up to visit us. Have you ever been up this way or seen pics of the Black Hills or the Badlands? It is really beautiful there. As soon as you get the book read, we'll be waiting for a book review from you. Have a great day and stop up any time.

pejuta will become famous soon enoughpejuta will become famous soon enough
i live in spearfish. was in rapid city and have camped in mitchell sd,spearfish,sd and near rochford in black hills. i found a very sacred place while hiking about 12 miles from rapid. had to do some steep rock climbing...sat on top of steep rocky slope. i could hear an eagle. the whole place vibrated with energy! i wanted to stay a long time, but couldnt. i also took some pics inside a gold mine not far from there and i was alone. said prayers inside in dark. a wonderful experience. when film developed,a mist was hanging from ceiling in one pic, with spirit mtn. lion heads very clearly showing in mist! also one nite in mitchell, was out late looking at stars, amazingly, they moved BACKWARDS for a few moments. a medicine man friend says that is the start of a vortex!

ladynitenday is on a distinguished road
Hi Pejuta, yes, there are many areas that vibrate with spiritual energy around the state. When we lived at Edgemont I would go out on a friends ranch and wander through the canyons. I could hear the walls talk to me and sometimes when I would sit and watch the petroglyphs it seemed they would come to life. When we lived in Mission at an apt complex we were night managers and the survellience tapes showed orbs moving along the halls and disappearing into walls. That was a great experience and we still have one of the tapes.
My son's place is out in the country and I would go for walks in the summer and sometimes I could swear that I could hear groups of people moving along, hearing them murmer in Lakota as they walked past me and the rustle of the packs and loads they carried plus childrens layghter. It almost felt as if I was at the door of an alternate universe as I sat beneath the trees.
Some would think I am nuts, but being there and part of the experiences makes one a believer, doesn't it?
