Too bad I'm deployed right now. I love this stuff!!! This just better not be a winter where all the snow comes before January and then none afterwards. Yes if you haven't noticed I LOVE SNOW!!!

Well got to work tonight and my wife has sent me another pic. I call it Ellsworth AFB, the day after!

Wife texted me saying she's slowly digging out our driveway, but they haven't plowed the roads yet and I'm sure it'll be awhile till they do because of all of the drifts. In the May snowstorm they couldn't use the regular plows because the drifts were so high. I'm sure that's the case this time too.

Yeah some of the roads are still pretty bad. I went for a little drive because I was going stir crazy in the house and there are still dozens of abandoned cars throughout Rapid City. Some drifts must be a good 6 feet high too. I think the Northside got it worse than the rest of town because roads are still terrible up there and the snow's so deep.

Omaha Street, Rapid City's largest street, is still covered in a thick ice and cars are getting stuck all over. Traffic's getting bad too. I think everyone's tired of being cooped up in the house. They cancelled school today and the mall opens at noon so I can imagine how busy they're gonna be too!

You guys have all the fun! We won't likely see any substantial snow until late January or February! I'm not holding my breath, though! Last year, we got more snow all winter (~24 inches, total) than I had seen in 15 years of living here! Just my luck, we filled our snow quota last year and now we won't get ANY!

Those posts from west river are wicked! Not much else to say about that. We've been spared for the most part in Brookings. We have snow on the ground and flying in the air, but nothing like that picture from the AFB! Good luck to you! brrrrr...
