It's been in the 60's and 80's here. I'd still trade places with you!

thank goodness my power just came back on. It was out for over an hour. I would never last thru a storm without power for a week!

For those of you who don’t know, I work up at the Rapid City Wal-Mart
We have been getting reports of power outages all around the city, and our power kept flickering.
Also a 20 foot chunk of the greenhouse roof got blown in, 2 windshields smashed by airborne shopping carts, and for those who don’t know, the front doors are brake away in case of an emergency, and the wind kept swinging entire door banks wide open. This wind is crazy. Tons of people were coming in to buy candles and what not. On my way home, a big chunk of Deadwood Avenue was without power (I didn’t want to deal with I90). I think tomorrow is going to be dominated by video games, because if it’s like this when I wake up, I am not going anywhere.

Friday afternoon may be considered great timing!

We are flying in on Friday afternoon. Do you think it will be OK by then ?

If the blizzard is Wed and thru Thursday, by Friday afternoon the airport will be dug out, roads cleared--so at this point hold your reservations and don't change a thing. Friday afternoon might be "perfect timing" for you, scubashawn68. Keep in touch with your airline. Expect a full plane since any people delayed will fill the extra seats in your aircraft. Let's hope this blows out of here by Thursday night. Good luck!

Watching Fox News at the moment. They stated Deadwood has had 31" of snow in the last 24 hrs. and the system is moving VERY SLOWLY!! Bad winds, poor visibility, the works.

Deadwood has gotten 36 inches of snow so far and the highest elevations have reached 40 inches. Only 7 inches so far in Rapid City but it's blowing at 50mph and there's a 6 foot snow drift in front of my garage!
Hey, at least skiing will start early this year!
