In this year, South Dakota had 14,000 automobiles running around the state. Mostly on wagon trails as there were no paved roads yet. So South Dakota decided to start issueing License Plates. What year was it?

The first gunfire against the Japanese Homeland was launched from the USS South Dakota on July 14, 1945. And no, I didn't take the directly from the internet.
Also, the crew of the ship shot down several Japanese planes.
Is that the answer you're looking for????

Those are good points but not exactly what I was looking for. The USS South Dakota is famous for something that is far above and beyond any other battleship. But those led to what I am looking for.

In Rapid City. If I lived in Cleghorn Canyon and graduated high school in 1970. What was the name of the high school?
Thought I'd get a little tougher. Ya can't find this one on Google.
