I'm looking for the "Name" of the Bridge.
To tell you the truth, I'm not sure if it's still standing. It may have been replaced.

Are you thinking of the Meridian Bridge in Yankton? It was a privately financed railroad/auto bridge and was undertaken about the same time the state was planning bridges at Mobridge, Wheeler, Pierre, Chamberlain, and Forrest City.
Wasn't the first structure in SD to cross the MO River, using the term "structure" loosely, a set of railroad tracks laid over the ice someplace up north of Pierre?

You got it. The Meridian was the first structure built across the river.

OK, I have one~What is the present day name of the town that was originally called "Dakota City"? The townspeople moved it a couple of miles when they re-established it. Hint~my LEAST favorite town in the state.

Believe it or not, I have a map that still shows it 4.5 miles East of Parkston. Did they move it to Parkston?

When did South Dakota's official flag, become South Dakota's official flag?
When did the one before it become official.

OK, I MAY have found part of the answer. In 1992, the legislature officially changed the wording from "The Sunshine State" to "The Rushmore State". Is that right?
The only thing I can think of for the other part of the answer is um~1889????
