I researched some infor on a lot of small towns. i was researching about "Ghost Towns" in South Dakota. found some shocking info. For instance, they list Vayland as a ghost town. I used to live there. I knew that the family I stayed with, still lived there so I did some checking. Yup, South Dakota considers it a Ghost town, "Occupancy? 1 family." But it's still a ghost town. 40 years ago when I stayed there, it was only the one family. It hasn't changed. haha
I'll bet I have a lot of little towns tucked away on this computer that you won't find on any map, but they are still valid towns.

Following the railroad tracks, South of Rapid City, what town sites do you go through before you get to Mavrick (Truck stop where you turn off to Hot Springs)?

Not bad Danny. By the way Oral is where you turn to go to Maverick. They are
Rapid city
XXXX
XXXX
Hermosa
Fairburn
Buffalo Gap
Oral.
Can't count the others, they're not established town sites. Just sub divisions. And I'm not sure, are they along the railroad track?
So we're still missing the first two.

It's a tough one. but you could ask any railroader and their maps would show these town sights because they were whistle stops, or stops for water years ago.
Rapid City
War Bonnet
Ajax
Hermosa
Fairburn
Buffalo Gap
Oral.

Oh man, after this game I feel like I must be a foreigner to this state rather then a lifelong resident. I've never heard or War Bonmet, Ajax, OR Oral.
