Oh, my little red Pontiac made it over to Sioux FAlls and back. Our temps have been in the 30s so all we have left is a light dusting of snow right now. BUT they're talking about nasty for the weekend. Hopefully they'll be wrong.

Yup, you could find me alright!!! Actually though, there are quite a few cars that look like mine in Mitchell.

Jammie, I had just passed through Mitchell the other day. I couldn't get over how much it has grown. When I was little, there was a couple gas stations and maybe a motel on Exit 332. Now there's a ton of stores, hotels, restaurants, and it looks like they're building more. I hope Cabela's has the same effect on Exits 60 and 61 in Rapid City.

Yes, we're growing.We were at a stagnant 14000 and some people for so many years. The surrounding area turned into hot spots for bedroom towns, but Mitchell itself wasn't growing much. Now I believe we've hit a bit over 17,000. There are a lot of new things going up here and our unemployment rate is non-existent. It's down to 2.3% which pretty much means if someone is capable of working, there's employment for them 
It's drawn a bit of interest from people from other states. We have a low crime rate, plenty of jobs, housing is reasonable compared to so much of the country, we're pretty friendly. ( I think we are anyway. Sorta hard to tell since we're from this area.) Another big plus is that the town is clean and pretty. Well, during the summertime anyway.

Sure seems like all the business are finding there way to the interstae neighborhood. the north end of town is slower paced.
