Just thought I'd ask. I'm very into miniatures, of the dollhouse variety, and I've only ever heard of one miniaturist in SD. Can't find any dollhouse/miniature stores in the phone book in Sioux Falls, Pierre or Rapid City.

If you're a mini person, or aspire to be, give a holler!

Well me and wife build them sometime. Kind of hard to find them anymore. I think Who's Hobby in rapid city might have some of the miniature stuff, I get most of mine online anymore.

This winter or maybe spring we will be working on a Magnolia Doll House. Its mostly for her since I do the model building (plastic kits, Scratch and kitbashing) but I help her when she needs it .

Homesteader, do you have any photos of what you've done? Are you planning on taking photos as you build your Magnolia? I'd love to see them.

Are you aware of any of the online miniature digests out there? It's a great way to see what others are doing and learn from everyone, from the pros down to the beginners.

It's always great to meet someone who speaks your language. Are miniaturists the only people who know what kitbashing is? ;-)

Yes, there was. The Doll House Museum had so many beautiful dolls from all over the world~many were old and worth a lot, too. Unfortunately, they closed down several months ago.

Wow! You guys have a Hobby Lobby! I'm so jealous!

When WalMart moved into town, they decimated a Michaels and a JoAnn Fabrics. Then they started phasing out their craft department. Now it's an hour-and-a-half bus ride to Olympia, to get to any kind of real craft supplies.

*sigh*

Theres a michaels opening up in Rushmore Crossing, Not sure if its opened yet or not but I definately wanna check them out when they do open.

I don't have any pics of the dollhouses we've done in the past, in fact I don't even think we still have the dollhouses. I still have a 10x20 storage unit in council bluffs and don't even remember whats in there besides half our furniture and 7 foot long deep freezer lol.

Will try and take some pictures of this build, just not sure when we will start on it.

yeah it is nice to know someone else out there knows what Kitbash or Scratchbuilt means in the hobby world LOL. I may have to take some pics of some of the Scratchbuilt models I have done int he past for ya LOL.
