Tricky! Either companies are going down the tubes and they don't want us to notice or this is some new "forced diet plan"!

My favorite ice cream has been downsized from a half gallon (64 oz.) to 3/4 gallon (48 oz.) They think I won't notice that! The packaging must cost as much as the larger size.

I went to Target tonight and noticed that many things have downsized and yet kept the same price. Peanut butter, juice, and even dish soap. I'm kind of tee-d off!

SO, wonder what the story is behind that. They said our prices increased because gas was 4.00 per gallon. WELL, it's much less then that now so where is our price reduction?

There must be a method to the madness of the corporations, I guess.

Have any of you seen how expensive candy bars are?

They are smaller but are over a dollar. Good greif. I can remember six or seven years ago when you can buy candy bars three for a dollar or four for a dollar at places such as Hy-Vee and even a few convenience stores.

Gosh, I can remember when candy bars were 5 for a quarter and on Saturday, they were 6 for a quarter. I can only imagine what the people from my previous generation must be thinking about this mess.

I read about chislic in SD Magazine but have never eaten it. One thing I miss about South Dakota is the great specialty food we cannot get out here at the end of the world...like kuchen, ring bologna (don't laugh!) good summer sausage and KUCHEN! Sigh!
